If you have only one employer such as a nanny, six months gives you plenty of time to research and set up a workplace pension.
What to do now
Around 12 months before your staging date you should have had a letter from The Pensions Regulator (TPR) to let you know what your staging date is – the date that you need to have a pension in place.

If you know you won’t have a nanny at your staging date then tell TPR that you’ll no longer be an employer.
If you don’t know whether you’ll still be an employer at your staging date then you have another few months to work out what to do. Read our guide to what to do three months before your staging date.
If you’re certain that you’ll have a nanny by the time you reach your staging date fill out the duties checker if you haven’t done so already.
